Willard J. Braden, 97, of Grand Island, died Monday, November 10, 2008 at Golden Living Center-Lakeview.  Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, at Kleine Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the visitation. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2008 at United Congregational Church with Rev. Lonnie Logan officiating.  Burial of cremains will be 2 p.m. on Monday at Greenwood Cemetery, York.

James Arthur Toombs, 77, passed away Monday, Nov 17, 2008. He was a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Toombs Construction with his father. James loved racing and was a member of KAR.

Evelyn Maxine Folts, former York County Clerk, died Monday, November 17, 2008 at Fairmont at the age of 88. She was born June 12, 1920 in rural York to Joseph C. and Mary R. (Foster) Hemberry. Evelyn graduated from York High School in the class of 1938. Following graduation, she worked for several prominent families in Hastings.

Carl T. Irmer, age 104 of York, formerly Gresham, died Monday, November 17, 2008 in York. He was born December 9, 1903 to Gustav and Mary (Kiihn) Irmer at his parents home southeast of Gresham. He was baptized on December 9, 1903 and confirmed on Palm Sunday, April 1, 1917 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Gresham.

Raymond Paul Nyffeler, 84, of Stromsburg, died Nov. 12, 2008 at Good Samaritan Center in Osceola.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 17, 10:00 a.m.,  at Stromsburg Salem Lutheran Church  with Pastor Bob Johnson and Owen Kinnan officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Stromsburg. Interment will be in Stromsburg Cemetery with Military Rites by Stromsburg Legion Post #132. Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg and Osceola has charge of arrangements.

Gale Eugene Fox, 92, of Winona, MN., formerly of York, NE., died Nov. 13, 2008 at his home in Winona surrounded by family.
He was born Dec. 12, 1915 in Stockham, NE., to John and Fannie Fox, one of 11 siblings who made their home in the Stockham, NE area. He attended school at Beaver Crossing High, NE. and went to work for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad where he worked for 43 years, retiring in 1976.

Merlin C. Tannahill, age 68 of York died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at York.  He was born May 4, 1940 to Paul and Velma (Andrew) Tannahill at Friend.  He was a member of the United States Air Force, worked for Hughes Bros. for 18 years, and most recently Chances R Restaurant.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 14, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Osceola with Pastor Robert Perry officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, November 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will be in the Osceola Cemetery.
