A total of nine area players were selected as all-conference players from the East and West division of the Southern Nebraska Conference.

A pair of York Dukes were selected to the all-conference west divison Central Conference volleyball teams, Wednesday night in York.

After taking an early 2-0 lead, York College was unable to sustain any offense in the first 10-minutes, falling to Friends University 79-38, in Wichita, Kan., Tuesday night.

The Dakota Wesleyan Open field featured some of the top wrestlers in the area, and the York College Panthers were able to qualify two for the NAIA National Tournament on Saturday.

York College fell behind in the first half Friday night at Bethel College and never could recover in an 82-73 basketball loss to the Threshers.

The glass slipper finally came off for Cinderella Bertrand against Giltner Saturday night. The result was a crushing 3-0 win for the Hornets that came wrapped in the Class D-1 volleyball state championship.

Giltner will play for it all, today at 5 p.m. at the NU Coliseum, after defeating No. 2 seeded Sandhills/Thedford, 25-11, 25-16, 20-25, 25-20, Friday afternoon at Lincoln High School.
