Co-ed softball tourney set
GRESHAM – The Gresham Fireman's Picnic is having a Co-ed softball tournament July 11 and is inviting teams to participate. The majority of each team needs to be made up of players 35 or older. Contact Tera Dey at 402-366-3192."
Panther baseball camps
YORK – The York College baseball coaching staff will be holding their Panther Baseball Camps in June.
Camp 1 will be held June 22 - 24 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and is for players ages 8-15. The camp will take place at Levitt Stadium and the cost is $60. Camp includes instruction from the York College coaching staff and a t-shirt.
Camp 2 will be held June 25-26 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Levitt Stadium and is for players ages 16-19. Cost of the camp is $40 and includes instruction, personal evaluation from the York College coaching staff and a t-shirt.
Registration will be held on the first day of camp for both camps, registration forms can be printed off of the baseball website at http://york.edu beginning June 1.
York Duke football camps
YORK - York head football coach Scott Kohmetscher announced dates and times this week for upcoming Duke Football Camps.
The camps will be seven on seven with York High School and college players.
Grades 3-4: July 20-22- 8 AM - 10 AM
Grades 5-6: July 20-22 - 10 AM - 12N
Grades 7-8: July 20-22 - 5 PM-7 PM
Grades 9-12: July 20-23 - 7 PM-9PM
Call the YHS office at 362-6655 with questions. Forms will be available at the office and due by July 10.
Little Duke Volleyball Camp
YORK – If you are going to be in 3rd – 8th grade next fall please join the York Duke Volleyball players and coaching staff for camp July 13 – 15.
The camp will emphasize skill development of the basic fundamentals, teamwork, conditioning, and an enthusiasm for the game!
Camp will run from 9 – 11 for 3-5 graders and 11 – 1 for 6-8 graders. The cost will be $30 and includes a t-shirt. Camp will be at the high school.
Please pick up a form at the YHS office, or you are welcome to sign up the day of camp. (T-shirts can not be guaranteed after June 26)
Cougar 3 on 3 baskeball tournament
STROMSBURG – The annual Cougar Ball 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will be held in Stromsburg on Saturday, June 20.
Contact Troy Lindsley at Cornerstone Bank at 764-2511 for entry forms or pick up a form at Cornerstone Bank in Stromsburg.
Age divisions include grades 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-2 and adult.
June is for Duke hoops camp
YORK – Brochures with details on this summer’s York Duke Basketball Camp for boys who will be in grades 1-8 next year will be available at all public and private schools in York by the end of the 2008-2009 term. They will also be available at the York High School office during summer hours.
Dates are:
• Grades 10-12 – June 2-5, 7:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. at York High.
• Grades 7-9 – June 2-5, 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at York High.
• Grades 4-6 – June 8-11, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at York Elementary.
• Grades 1-3 – June 8-11, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at York Elementary.
