Cubs defeat Rockies 11-0
YORK – The Cornerstone Cubs and the York Jewelry Rockies faced each other Thursday night in the first round of the York Pony League tournament. The Cubs came out with a 11-0 win.
The Cubs were led on offense by Chandler Brayton who had a triple and a double. Jared Onnen also added another double. It was a tough day at the plate for the Rockies, with only Aaron Beins and Colin Kit getting on base.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Rockies were led by pitcher Jesse Hoblyn with three strikeouts. The pitching was also strong for the Cubs. Leading the way for the Cubs was pitcher Jamison Vanderheiden with four strikeouts. The Cubs catcher, Grant Suddarth, threw two Rockies baserunners out at second. The league tournament will finish up on Tuesday night.
