July will be a busy month!

So it's already July! The exterior temperatures certainly verify that fact!

Your Fun Club has a rather extensive slate of activities planned for this month. Included are two of the events we usually plan every year – (1) the Brownville Village Theatre and the Missouri River dinner cruise and (2) a musical at The Lofte Theatre, located near Manley. However, at this writing both are sellouts, but we'll accept a waiting list. Brownville is scheduled for Saturday, July 11 and The Lofte for Sunday, July 19.

The Double D Ranch near Ashland is rapidly becoming a delightful venue for folks interested in western style music and western cuisine. On Saturday, July 25 Rex Allen Jr. and his partner Bix Crary are the scheduled entertainers at the Double D and the Fun Club will be present with two busloads. As this article is being written, we are nearly filled. The cost is $59 which includes transportation, entertainment and dinner. For information, contact the Fun Club office mornings at 362-4478.

“SUDS”

One of the more interesting programs coming up this fall may be “SUDS”, a musical featuring 1960s music. This musical will be playing at the new TADA Theatre located in the Haymarket district of Lincoln. Our date is Sunday afternoon, Oct. 11, and the price is quite reasonable at $49, including dinner, ticket and busfare.

This is billed as a “rocking musical soap opera” set in a Laundromat. It's a spirited story about a young girl and her four guardians who are trying to teach her how to find true love.

We have space for another eight members on this trip.

Gaithers

When one hears the name “Gaithers”, high quality  inspirational music immediately comes to mind. The Gaither Vocal Band is appearing at the Pershing Auditorium on Friday, Sept. 11 and we purchsed enough tickets to fill two motorcoaches. We have six seats available on the second. The price for a ground floor seat, dinner and busfare is $69. Call the Fun Club mornings at 362-4478, if interested in attending.

Roy Rogers Jr.

Tickets are being sold every day for the Roy Rogers Jr. Show which the Fun Club and the York News-Times are sponsoring in York. The date is Sunday afternoon, August 23 at the York High School Auditorium. Ticket price is $20. They are available at the News-Times office or by mail to P.O. Box 278 in York.

Fun Club Day in Omaha

The announcement last Wednesday concerning our Fun Day in in Omaha met with gratifying response. So good, in fact, that we are already virtually sold out. We plan to visit the Henry Doorly Zoo and the Lauritzen Gardens. The date selected was Thursday, Sept. 3. The charge will be $53. We will accept a waiting list of course.
