LWML members of York Zone
YORK – The planning meeting for the Fall Rally of the LWML York Zone is scheduled for Thursday, July 16 at 7 p.m. at St. John's Church in Cordova.
To travel to Cordova go South from the Utica exit on I-80 71/4 miles. Take the first street west when you reach the edge of Cordova. For those who travel Highway 34, go south on the Utica spur until you cross I-80, then follow the same directions as listed above.

Blackwood Brothers Quartet in Columbus
COLUMBUS – The Blackwood Brothers Quartet will be at Highland Park Evangelical Free Church Sunday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. The church is located at 4115 38th St., Columbus. For more information call 402-564-5853.
This quartet was formed in 1934 with brothers, Roy, Doyle, James and Roy’s son, R.W. That heritage is carried on 75 years later as James’ oldest son, Jimmy, joins tenor Wayne Little, bass Randy Byrd and singing and playing piano is Brad White to present a modern day version of that great quartet’s gospel music.
St. Peter’s Lutheran Women in Mission
GRESHAM – The Lutheran Women in Mission of St. Peter’s Gresham met June 23 with Pastor Seetin leading the bible study, “Beautiful Feet” from the summer quarterly.
President Norman Gonnerman opened the business meeting with the thought “The will of God will never lead you where the grace of God cannot keep you”. Six members answered roll call. May minutes were read and approved. A thank you from Dalton Dey for the confirmation devotional book was shared. Ruth Abresch gave the treasurer’s report, which was placed on file. Mites and penny parade were collected.
Vernie Gutz read a devotion for Human Can entitled “Steps”.
No one was able to attend the program at Hampton June 15. Dianne Wacker brought the quilted banner for the anniversary. Norma Gonnerman and Ruth Abresch will finish tying it. Dianne Wacker will finish the interchangeable part for the banner before the next meeting.
A reminder was given to all officers to attend the planning meeting at St. John’s Cordova July 16 at 7 p.m.
Meeting closed with Lord’s Prayer and table prayers. Maxine Rieger was hostess.
Next meeting will be 7:30 p.m., July 26.
