Doniphan resident, Joseph “Joe” A. Sullivan, 45, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Rosary will be Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island with Father Andrew Kurz officiating.
Burial will be in Cedarview Cemetery in Doniphan. Visitation was held on Monday from 5 – 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home in Hastings.
Visitation will also be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island on Tuesday from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the family for a memorial to be established.

Joe was born August 25, 1966 to Daniel E. and Elsie (Dickey) Sullivan at Seward. He graduated from Centennial High School in Utica in 1985 and attended the University of Nebraska – Kearney where he played basketball.
Joe married Carol Parr on June 4, 1988 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseland.
He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus both in Doniphan. Joe worked in sales for Westering Distributing then Nebraskaland Distributing in Grand Island.
He enjoyed watching all sports his children participated in especially basketball. Joe’s family and friends were very important to him and he always enjoyed spending time with them.
He fought his cancer courageously until the end. He will be missed by all.

Survivors includes his wife, Carol Sullivan of Doniphan; children, Skyler and Kirsten Sullivan both of Doniphan; his mother, Elsie Sullivan of Waco; brothers and spouse, Michael and Lyn Sullivan of Lincoln, Daniel Sullivan of Raymore, Mo. and John Sullivan of Fairbury; sisters and spouses, Kathy and Joe Ruzicka of Seward, Patty McCord of Guernsey, Wyo., Chris Bohaty and Tom Hill of Lincoln, Peggy and Lynn Hanson of Litchfield, Minn., Julie and Todd Raridon of Plainfield, Ill. and Kelly and Brad Whiteley of Lincoln; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Madeline Parr of Roseland.
Numerous other relatives, many nieces, nephews and friends.
