Responding to about a dozen calls regarding the Gaithers, we have decided to again sponsor a bus to see this great inspirational show at the Qwest Center in Omaha. The date will be Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008 and the performance begins at 7 p.m. Our bus will leave York at 3 p.m., allowing time for dinner prior to the show. We have figured the price at $80.
Two or three years ago, when we booked this same event, there was some dissatisfaction because our seats were so far away from the performers. We did this because of the pricing policy at the time; we wanted to keep the price reasonable.
This time we have ordered the best and closest (and most expensive) seats in the Qwest Center. And of course the pricing reflects that fact!
This is the first announcement about this trip and we will accept reservations on a first called, first served basis. If interested, please contact the Fun Club office, mornings at 362-4478.
This event is being billed as “Gaither Homecoming – Lovin’ Life Tour”. Featured will be many singers and groups, plus the Gaither Vocal Band. Other scheduled performers include Ernie Hasse & Signature Sound, Gordon Mote, Russ Taff, Kevin Williams, Janet Paschal, Jeff & Sheri Easter and Lynda Randle. All are stars in their own right and feature gospel and inspirational music. This will be a two and one-half hour show and one which will be long remembered.
Fall Party
Invoices for our Sept. 14th Fall Party have been dispatched to many Fun Clubbers recently. Letters went out to those members who attended the 2007 Fall Party at Mahoney State Park and to some members who have since made verbal reservations.
Since the demise of the popular Goehner Melodrama, we have substituted the melodrama at Mahoney as its replacement. Last year everyone had a good time at the show and the following dinner party.
This fall we will try something extra special. Following the play “Mystery Island” at Mahoney State Park, we plan to have an elegant dinner at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln. At which time we will award some door prizes and a few other surprises for our members! The price will be $55 including the play, dinner and transportation and fun! We have room for only 165 and have a sizeable waiting list. There is a deadline of July 30th for payment. Thereafter the waiting list will be contacted.
Double D Chuckwagon
& Show
Most of our summer events are filled. The lone exception is the Double D Ranch Chuckwagon Dinner and Entertainment at Ashland. We have about a dozen seats remaining unfilled on our second motorcoach. The price of $50 is quite reasonable for this outing, considering that includes a delicious cowboy dinner, transportation and entertainment by a cowboy band, dubbed the Medicine River Boys. It’s all coming off on Saturday, July 26th. Our buses will leave York at 3:30 p.m.
Members interested are asked to call the Fun Club office mornings at 362-4478 for reservations. You won’t be sorry!
Bad News
The Dutton Family Show has been postponed. We learned Saturday that they had mistakenly double booked the date of Sept. 18. It was Duttons’ error and since our contract was the second one scheduled for that date, we are the club which is affected.
The new date will be announced whenever we can come to a mutually agreeable new date. It may not be until April 2009. Keep tuned!
