“Flywheel” to be presented April 26 at Crossroads Bible Fellowship
HENDERSON -- Family Night will be held Saturday, April 26, 6:30 p.m., at Crossroads Bible Fellowship with the showing of “Flywheel”. Jay Austin wants to sell used cars in the worst way -- and that’s exactly how he does business. He’ll do whatever it takes to sell a car -- even his wife and son can’t trust him. But as Jay works on restoring a classic convertible, he begins to see that God is working on restoring him as well and Jay begins the ride of his life as he commits to honoring Cod with his business, his relationships and his life.
Crossroads Bible Fellowship is located 1/2 mile north of the I-80 Henderson Exit. The film is free and refreshments will be furnished.

National Day of Prayer to be observed May 1
WACO -- Prayer is Powerful - you and your family are invited to a National Day of Prayer event Thursday, May 1, 10 a.m. at Peace Church, 107 Blaine, Waco. The event is hosted by members of the 3 p.m. bible Class.

Blackwood Brothers Quartet to appear in Columbus
COLUMBUS -- The Blackwood Brothers Quarter will appear Sunday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. at Highland Park Evangelical Free Church, 4115-38th St., Columbus. For more information phone 402-564-5853.
Blackwood Brothers Quartet was formed in 1934 with brothers, Roy, Doyle, James and Roy’s son, R.W. That heritage of Gospel music is carried on today as James’ oldest son Jimmy joins tenor great Wayne Little, the smooth bass of Randy Byrd and the singing and piano artistry of Brad White to present a modern-day version of that great quartet.

Ascension Day services at Waco St. John Lutheran Church
WACO -- “It is not what you know, but WHO you know that is important.” If HEAVEN is important to you, then knowing Jesus Christ as your personal Savior is terribly important. Ascension Day is a celebration, a festival of victory as Christ visibly ascends to heaven 40 days after Easter.
St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Waco will celebrate this day with an evening worship service at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 1. They will also have a time of Christian fellowship following the service. Please join us.
St. John’s is located 2 miles east and 4 1/2 miles south of Waco.

Emmanuel LWML
YORK -- Emmanuel LWML held their annual “Evening with Friends” April 8 with the event theme being “Buttons”. LWML President Loretta Heiden gave the welcome and Pastor Mike Neidow offered the prayer before the meal. Carolyn Rottman accompanied the group singing. Several of the youth sang “Lord of the Dance” and another group presented a skit “I’m a Little Teapot”.
Guest speaker was LaVonne Uffelman of “Luv’s Stuff” who gave an interesting history of buttons and showed many examples of the buttons she has been collecting since 1989.
The Gift of Love for April was given to the Lutheran School for the Deaf.
Hostesses for the evening were Jan Gray, Yvonne Junge, Diana Lewis and CloeAnn Stahr.
Next meeting will be held 7 p.m., May 13 in Emmanuel Fellowship Hall.
