Approximately 100 girls and boys ages 9-14 put their talents on the line Wednesday afternoon, competing in a variety of different events. The meet drew kids from Gresham, Stromsburg, Shelby, Waco, McCool, Seward, Fairmont, Benedict, Bruning, Geneva, Aurora, Osceola, Hampton, Bradshaw, Ohiowa, Milligan and probably a few others.

I used to have golf bad, but they have pills so I’m over it now. Or so I thought.

Gerardo Gonzalez and Juliana Eloiza Rodriguez, are parents of a daughter, Jasmin Samantha Gonzalez Rodriguez, born May 2, 2008 at 6:37 p.m. at York General Hospital.

I’ve always been an “imitator” — I pick up on people’s physical tendencies and gestures, their catch phrases. And then, for entertainment purposes only, I act it out for them. We all get a kick out of it — but when I’m done, I always maintain that I don’t have any recurring motions or usual words that I use all the time.

There are several outstanding books about the war against terrorists I would highly recommend, Heroes Among Us by Major Chuck Larson, Moment of Truth in Iraq by Michael Yon, and House to House by Staff Sergeant David Bellavia.

People that know me well know that shopping is just not my thing.  Back in the day, former News-Times reporter and columnist Donna Rhoades and I went at it head to head on who was the better shoppers, men or women.
