Centennial scores big at Brain Brawl

LINCOLN — Four teams from Centennial Junior High School  recently competed at the eleventh annual Lincoln Northeast High School Brain Brawl. The Brain Brawl is a quiz bowl tournament for students in middle school/junior high grades. Teams entered participate in either the sixth through eighth, and ninth grade divisions. Twenty-five teams, representing fourteen different schools, participated in this year’s contest.
Logan Middle School Team A from Bellevue was the 7-8th grade division champion.  Centennial’s Team D and Team A brought home the second and third place trophies, in their division, respectively. Logan Team B was the runner-up team in fourth.
Centennial’s second place team members were: Dalton Dey, Sam Wilton, Ashley Vavra, and Cameron Pfeifer. The third place team members were: Cody Pariset, Dacee Dey, Ann Wilton, and McKenna Obermier. Jeff Johnson coaches the Centennial teams.
