York, NE —

A plea of no contest was entered by Andrew Ford, a former resident of York, in which he admitted to delivery of a controlled substance, a Class 3 felony.
He appeared with his attorney, York County Public Defender Eric Williams, in York County District Court this week.
According to York County Attorney Tim Sieh, on Sept. 28, 2006, a confidential informant working for the Nebraska State Patrol contacted Ford, to make arrangements to purchase marijuana at Ford’s place of residence, then located on West Eighth Street in York. They agreed, via a telephone call, that Ford would sell the informant one ounce of marijuana for $140.
Officers recorded the transaction, in which the informant obtained 27.84 grams of marijuana (which was determined later by the state patrol crime lab).
“At the time, I made a bad decision,” Ford told Judge Alan Gless. “I’ve tried to change and I’m working toward finishing school, which is why I came here in the first place. I was wrong and I understand that. And I got in trouble for it.”
Sentencing will take place Sept. 8. Ford is facing a possible maximum sentence of 1-20 years in prison and/or a $25,000 fine.
