YORK – Bobby Clark Jr., 46, of York was initially charged in June of one count of child pornography and sexual assault. New charges have been added and now Clark faces 11 felony counts.

Special prosecutor Demetria Herman added the charges against him, based on new information that was gathered over the course of the investigation.

Clark was investigated by the York Police Department in May after officers were contacted by staff of Nebraska Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding an alleged sexual assault of a 7-year-old child.

The child was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center and provided detailed information about the man’s appearance, including his tattoos, hair style and teeth. The child described the man’s truck, trailer house and a boat that was parked in his yard. The child also provided information regarding specific objects in the room where the alleged assault took place and indicated that photographs had been taken during the alleged assault. Included in the child’s statement were that visual depiction of what was happening could be seen on a computer screen in the room.

Officers confirmed Clark’s residence at the time of the alleged assault, his pickup and boat matched the child’s description.

During the service of a search warrant, officers seized cameras, computer equipment and a number of objects that had been precisely described by the child.

He was taken into custody in mid-June and has been in jail since.

Clark was initially facing a possible maximum of 3-50 years in prison. Now, with the additional charges, that possibility is increased to 16 years to life as the charges carry a maximum of 415 years when all totaled.

There are indications in court files that prosecutors believe there was more than one victim. However, that is not clear in the state complaint as some charges correspond with one set of a child’s initials and other charges regard more than one pornographic video that was allegedly created by Clark.

He is now charged with four counts of manufacturing child pornography, which is a Class 1D felony that carries a possible maximum sentence of 3-50 years in prison; two counts of third degree sexual assault of a child, which is a Class 3A felony that carries a possible maximum sentence of five years in prison; one count of child abuse, which is a Class 3A felony that carries a possible maximum sentence of five years in prison; and four counts of attempted first degree sexual assault of a child, which is a Class 2 felony that carries a possible maximum sentence of 1-50 years in prison.

Bond has been set at $100,000, 10 percent. If Clark is able to make bond, he is not allowed to have contact with anyone under the age of 18 including all victims.

Arraignment proceedings have been set for Aug. 19 in District Court.
