This course teaches one and two rescuer CPR, AED, Foreign Body Airway Obstruction, and barrier devices for Adults, Children and Infants.

So You Have an iPad —Now What?
• Oct. 24 - Nov. 14, 2012, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Tuition $45
This course is designed to assist users how to utilize, configure, and become comfortable using and managing their new device.
Learn how to set up different applications such as email, social media utilities like Facebook© and Twitter, shoot pictures and videos using the camera and uploading to iMovie, as well as changing device settings and device maintenance. Other content will be focused on the specific needs of the participants.

Stained Glass in a Day!
• Oct. 6, 2012, 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m., Tuition $89
This one-day workshop teaches you the step-by-step process of making a stained glass window using the copper foil method. Learn to cut glass, fit your pieces properly, foil and solder.
Class covers different finishing techniques. Finished piece is approximately 12 inches by 14 inches.
Greeting Cards: Colored Pencils
• Oct. 6, 2012 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Tuition $29
Not just for weak-colored maps any more, colored pencils can be layered and manipulated into dazzling art pieces. We’ll do a variety of small studies, including a Christmas design, a floral drawing, a still life, and a fanciful decorative piece.
Greeting Cards: Watercolor or Acrylics
• Oct. 20, 2012 9 a.m., 3 p.m., Tuition $29
We’ll make several small paintings to experiment with various watercolor techniques. A Christmas subject will be included, as well as a landscape, a floral, a flat wash shape, and ideas for assembling your cards.
Bob Ross Oil Painting

Bob Ross classes are designed for painters of all abilities, including beginners. Come and enjoy a relaxing time painting.
It is an excellent stress reliever and offers a wonderful sense of accomplishment. NOTE: Finished painting does not include a frame and students will take home their completed painting. This painting theme will be “Teton Winter”.
Deep blue winter colors highlight a misty cabin scene. This class filling up fast!
Knitting for Beginners

You will learn basic knitting skills as you create a charming sampler scarf. This very popular class has set many people on the road to a life-long love of knitting. Call for Community Education for supply list.

Students will learn or relearn the fun game of Bridge. The basic rules and strategies of Bridge will be taught, illustrated and then practiced through a few weeks of playing the game.
Memoir Writing Workshop
• Oct. 13, 2012, 9 a.m.-Noon, Tuition $25
This workshop is designed for both experienced writers and beginners. A memory prompt will start guided organization of memories. Students will write, then read their work to each other.
If you’ve already written memoir material, bring it along! We’ll take some time to discuss helpful critiquing guidelines, and there also will be material on self-publishing.
Buying, Selling Gold, Silver & Coins

Whether you are considering buying, selling or investing in gold, silver, or coins, you need to know “the basics”.
Tom Bassett of Lincoln is a past president of both state and local coin clubs. He has helped people buy and sell coins, as well as gold and silver items, for more than 30 years. You can bring “a few” coins to class for him to help identify.
• Madison County Covered Bridge Festival, Winterset, Iowa: Oct. 13, Tuition $89
Depart York at 7 a.m. Return (approximate time) 9 p.m.
This trip is not full yet, so you can still sign-up! We’ll travel to Iowa as the residents of Madison County gather for the 43rd year to celebrate the brilliant hues of autumn and the local historic covered bridges.
The festival features a wide variety of food, antique and craft vendors, nonstop music and entertainment, artisans demonstrating the old-fashioned ways, and a quilt show.
Tuition does include round-trip motor coach transportation, admission to the Festival on the Square, a guided tour of several of the local bridges, and light refreshments on board.
