Man killed in farming accident

GENEVA – A Grand Island man died Tuesday morning (Oct. 2) after being run over by a combine in a cornfield near Geneva, according to the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Department.

James Gable, 58, was an employee of Allied Genetics in Grand Island. He was measuring a test plot of corn when the combine that was backing up ran over him, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
