YORK – The sexual assault and child pornography case against Bobby Clark, 46, of York, has been dismissed in York County District Court as it has been transferred to federal court.

Court documents say Clark has been indicted by the federal government and will be tried in the U.S. District Court.

The case began after the York Police Department was contacted by staff of Nebraska Health and Human Services regarding the sexual assault of a 7-year-old child.

Investigators compared information provided by the young child with Clark’s residence at the time of the alleged assault, his pickup and his appearance. During the service of a search warrant, officers seized cameras, computer equipment and a number of objects that had been precisely described by the child.

He was taken into custody in June, 2013.

Clark was initially facing a possible maximum of 3-50 years in prison, but more charges were filed were filed against him while he was in jail, escalating the potential sentence to 415 years in prison.

Last fall, special prosecutor Demetria Herman said “additional victims continue to come forward and the situation remains under investigation.”

In District Court, he was charged with four counts of manufacturing child pornography, two counts of third degree sexual assault of a child, one count of child abuse and four counts of attempted first degree sexual assault of a child.

Prior to the case being transferred to federal court, Clark pleaded not guilty to all charges.
