York maurices celebrates anniversary with donation

National specialty store maurices in York celebrated its recent one year anniversary by making a $500 donation to York Adopt-A-Pet. “Building Hope Through Local Giving — maurices” is the company’s belief in the importance of having a positive impact on the communities of which they are a part.
“We believe in giving back to the communities we are a part of and are thrilled to announce the local non-profit organization who will receive this donation,” stated Deidre Banahan, York store manager. “Customers determined the charity by stopping in our store and voting during August. It was exciting to see the response from the community and the number of individuals who came out to submit their charity of choice. The organization that received the most nominations was York Adopt-A-Pet, which provides a valuable service to our community. We are happy to offer this additional support to their effort.”
Accepting on behalf of Adopt-A-Pet were kennel manager Kim Hart and Gail Nordlund. Hart and Nordlund thanked Banahan and maurices for the generous donation reporting, the moneys would be added to the local organization’s building fund. 
Banahan invited shoppers to stop by the York store, “Our associates love to help customers put outfits together whether you need something for work, an upcoming party, or to find that perfect gift. Our customers are the best part of our job and we look forward to welcoming them into our store.”
maurices was established in 1931. The store offers fashions for women in more than 600 stores in 42 states. The York location carries junior and women’s fashions in sizes ranging from one to 24.
