Record numbers of people registered to vote in York County since Jan. 1 — but this year’s Primary election had a low percentage of voter turn-out.

York County Clerk Cynthia Heine said that the numbers translate to a 22 percent turn-out rate.
There are 10,837 registered voters in the county — of those, only 2,390 actually went to the polls on Tuesday.
Of those, 1,836 were Republican, there were 507 Democrats and 47 non-partisan. There were no local voters from the Nebraska or Green parties.
The following is a break-down of voter numbers for the various precincts in the county:

• Leroy/Baker: 86
• Brown/Henderson: 185
• Hays: 62
• McFadden: 82
• Ward 1A (City of York): 212
• Ward 1B (City of York): 112
• Ward 2 (City of York): 149
• Ward 3 (City of York): 231
• Ward 4A (City of York): 279
• Ward 4B (City of York): 241
• Absentee: 147
