Second Lieutenant Andrew Spanjers of York was commissioned in the U.S. Army on July 10, 2008 at Fort Benning, Ga., after graduating from Officer Candidate School. Spanjers has been assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Fort Benning.
