HURON, S.D. —

The People to People Student Ambassador Program in Spokane, Wash., announced that Kasha Brown was selected into the student ambassador class of 2008. She is the daughter of Scott and Kristine (Seward) Brown of Huron, S.D., and a granddaughter of Marilyn Brown of York and Russell and Nancy (Schaldecker) Seward of Fairmont. Great-grandparents are Mrs. Jimmie Holloway of Fairmont and Verna Jean Schaldecker of York.
Kasha, a sophomore at Huron High School, will be representing the United States in Europe this summer. She was recommended through the People to People Legacy Program which searches for students who are interested in gaining global education, developing leadership and advancing President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s vision of peace through understanding.
She had to submit three recommendation letters and have an interview with one of the program’s leaders in order to be selected for the honor and responsibility of a student ambassador.
As a delegate, Kasha will be gaining insight of new cultures, promoting human dignity and peace and will make very lasting friendships with global counterparts while in Europe for 20 days.
Each delegate is responsible for funding all trip expenses. Anyone interested in sponsoring Kasha can make a contribution to: People to People Ambassador Programs. Make sure to put Kasha’s name and delegate I.D. 3909265 in the memo field on the check to ensure funds go to Kasha’s expenses. Checks may be mailed to: Kasha Brown, 2036  45th St. S.W., Huron, S.D. 57350. For more information or questions, call 605-352-6358.
