Obituary, Evelyn Mae Ochs

Evelyn Mae Ochs 80 of Tuscola Health Care formerly of Tolono went to her home in heaven on April 25, 2008 at 1:55 PM surrounded by her chidlren and grandchildren.
Evelyn was born Oct. 28, 1927 in Mahomet,Il, to Raymond and Ethel Jones Endsley.  She married Urban Ochs on Feb. 14, 1950 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tolono, he survives.  Also surviving are her children; Anita (Ferrell) Strack of Tolono, Helen (Mike) Birtcher of Tolono, and Maynard (Cathy) Ochs of York, NE, four grandchildren, Michelle Birtcher, Amadna (Creighton) Strack-Wilson, Kimberly (Satwan Bowdry) Birtcher, and Colby Strack, and three great-grandchildren; Adrain Wilson, Chase Strack, and Logan Wilson.  Also surviving are two brothers; Truman Endsley of Mahomet, Donald Endsley of South Side City, TX, a sister Merdith Von Lanken of Charleston.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a little sister Lillian Rose, and infant grandson Ferrell Wayne Strack, a sister Maxine Hawkins, and a step-mother Elsie Endsley O'Herron.
Evelyn and Urb farmed in the Tolono area for many years.  Evelyn also worked at the Unit 7 School lunchroom, Maggio's IGA, and Mitchell's Grocery Store.  She enjoyed her big gardens, canning, making Angel Food cakes from scratch and all her children's friends who were always at her house.
Visitation was Tuesday April 29, 2008 at the Freese Funeral Home 407 N. Bourne, Tolono and Funeral Mass was Wednesday April 30, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tolono.  Burial was in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
She will be sadly missed by her hamily and friends.
Memorial may be made to St. Patrick building fund, Tolono Fire Department, or Tolono Park District.
