Obituary: Lyell June

Funeral services for Lyell June Pinney, 86, of Lincoln, formerly of Madison and Columbus, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Resseguie Funeral Home, in Madison. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Resseguie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pinney died at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, in Lincoln, Saturday, May 10, 2008.
June was born in Coleridge, NE, on June 18, 1921, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha Bell (Barger) Fleener. Her family moved to Norfolk when she was young and she attended Norfolk Public Schools.
On June 7, 1944, June married Cecil Pinney in Madison, NE. The couple made their home in Norfolk before moving to Madison where they lived for 12 years. They then moved to Columbus, where Cecil preceded her in death. Later, she moved to Osceola for five years before entering the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, where she was a resident for three years before the time of her death.
June enjoyed crocheting, reading and country music. She was especially proud of her family.
June is survived by her children and their spouses: Noel Pinney, of Columbus; Sheryl Colvin, of Franklin, NE; Gary (Donna) Pinney, of York; Daryl Pinney, of Osceola and daughter-in-law Mary Pinney, of Duncan; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Kevin Lynn Pinney, and grandson, Michael Colvin.
