Obituary, Erma Florence Driewer

Erma Florence Driewer, 95, of the Good Samaritan Retirement Village in Loveland, Colo., went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 2, 2008. 
Erma was born Feb. 7, 1913, on a farm in Hamilton County to August and Ida (Opfer) Roehrs. She was baptized as an infant on March 9, 1913, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton. She confirmed her faith as a youth on May 9, 1926, also at Zion. She attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School.
She married Clarence Raymond Driewer on Sept. 19, 1937. They farmed in Hamilton and York Counties in Nebraska. After retirement, they moved to Loveland, Colo., in 1973.
Erma was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening. After retirement, she became involved with quilting as well. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid organization. 
Erma is survived by two daughters, Lois Underwood and husband Douglas, and Carol Kamtz and husband Russell all of Loveland, Colo.; four grandchildren: Troy Cunningham, Michelle (John) Vervaeke, Malory (Jeff) Zundel and Sarah (Joel) Sydlow; and four great-grandchildren: Mitchell Zundel, Joseph and Samuel Sydlow, and Brayden Underwood.
She is also survived by two sisters, Norma Gallant and husband Bill of Tucson, Ariz., Elva Wall, also of Tucson; and four brothers, Orville Roehrs of Grand Island, Gilbert Roehrs and wife Doris of Lincoln, Raymond Roehrs and wife Norma of Osceola, and Ardean Roehrs and wife Thelma of Holdrege; and one sister-in-law Irene Driewer of Bradshaw.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; two sons, Roger and Richard; one sister, Verla Rathje; two sisters-in-law, and four brothers-in-law.
She will be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness to others and her unending humor.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 14, 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Hampton. Inurnment will follow the service.
