Isabelle Emeline Gassman, 89, of Lincoln died on Saturday, October 4, 2008, in Lincoln. She was born on March 15, 1919, to Clarence L. & Anna Josephine (Lindquist) Thompson in Gresham.
She married Lawrence Gassman in York on November 2, 1941 who served 25 years as a United States Air Force Pilot reaching the rank of Major. As a wife of an Air Force pilot, they were able to travel extensively, including all 50 states.
Isabelle is survived by her husband, Lawrence; daughters and sons-in-law, Lee Anne and Ronald Hinz, of Simi Valley, CA, Cheryl Gassman, of Lincoln, Janet and John McGregor, of Tavares, FL; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Irene Feaster, of Grand Island. Isabelle is preceded in death by her parents, infant son, James; son William; and brothers Melvin and Maurice Thompson.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in York at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 – 9 p.m. at Roper and Sons Funeral Home.
