Youth softball players get free ticket, hot dog
YORK — The young ladies of York youth softball are invited to Come cheer for the York Duke softball teams as they take on Friend in their first games ever.
Those who wear their softball shirt will get a free hot dog and free admission to the games.
The JV team kicks it off at Miller Park at  5 p.m. Thursday, varsity starts at 6:30.

Cross County sports drink scrimmages Friday
STROMSBURG — The Cross County High School volleyball sports drink scrimmage will be held Friday, Aug. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the high school gym. The football scrimmage will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Buckley Park in Stromsburg.

Hamburger Feed Sept. 5
YORK — Support your York High School athletes by attending the Hamburger Feed on Friday, Sept. 5 before the York vs. Aurora football game. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. at East Hill Park. Hamburgers, hot dogs or Polish dogs, chips, drink and dessert will be served for $4. The event is sponsored by the York High School Athletic Booster Club.

Fillmore Central Hamburger Feed
GENEVA — The Fillmore Central Booster Club Hamburger Feed will be on Friday, Aug. 29 from 5 - 8 p.m. in the high school cafeteria in Geneva. Meal price is $4. Panther apparel will be for sale.

Fillmore Central Fun Run
GENEVA — The first annual Fillmore Central Fun Run  will be Wednesday, Sept. 3 beginning at 3:45 p.m. at the Elementary school in Geneva. Preschool through 8th grade can participate.

Seward Golf Tournament
SEWARD — The Seward United Methodist Church will hold a golf tournament at the Seward Country Club, Sept. 7, at 5 p.m. The tournament will be a four-person scramble and will include dinner, green fees and a cart. The event will be a fundraiser for the church’s plans for an infant daycare program. Anyone interested in playing, donating or helping to sponsor this event can contact the church office at 643-4156. Registration forms may be picked up at Jones Bank, Cattle Bank or the Seward Library.

Golf Tournament in Shelby
SHELBY — Sacred Heart Church of Shelby will sponsor a four-person scramble golf tournament on Sunday, Sept. 14. It will be at Ryan Hill in Osceola and registration will start at 10 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Persons 18 years old and older may register by calling Peggy Hopwood at 366-5012 during the day or 527-5229 in the evening. A steak dinner will follow the tournament, with serving from 4:30-7 p.m., at the Shelby Legion Club (hot dog meals will be available).
