On Tuesday night the York girls bunted, slap hit and drove the ball into the open areas when it counted most.
In the third, York put runners on the base with a small ball game that forced the hand of the Fairbury defense, and the Extreme who played nearly flawlessly in the field on Saturday had two big throwing errors in the Golden Eagles five run third.
On the hill Madison McLean held the Extreme to just four hits while striking out four. Fairbury starter Breann Weichel struggled in the third, as she walked one and hit another batter. On Saturday she had gone the distance for the win.
York will be back in action tonight as they make up another game, this time with Blue Springs. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and is a doubleheader.
The York Golden Eagles, who have started to jell as a team late in the year due to the many rain outs they experienced earlier in the season, taking them out of their game will take on the Columbus Lakeview Blue Lightning at 1:00 p.m. Friday in Lexington at the Nebraska Girls State Class B Fastpitch Tournament.
