Panthers win battle of Cats

SANDY CREEK — In a Southern Nebraska Conference Volleyball battle on Thursday night the Fillmore Central Panthers defeated the Sandy Creek Cougars in straight sets, 25-20, 25-23 and 25-20.
The Panthers win ups their season mark to 10-15.
On the statistical side, Haley Norvell was charted with a 28 set assist night, while Katherine Roemmich hammered a team high 13 kills. Adding seven kills was Heather Broman and with six was both Maggie Malone and Meg Loontjer.
In digs, Jordyn Taylor had 19, Malone 14, and both Brooke Neville and Norvell added 11.
In blocks Roemmich had four, and Loontjer three.
In serving Abbi Adkisson had a team high 18 points and one ace serve, Malone was charted with 16, while Roemmich had 12 points and two aces, and Loontjer also had 12 service points.
Fillmore Central (10-15) will host Centennial Tuesday, Oct. 14.
