NEBRASKA CITY — Fifty-five golfers from Southeast Nebraska hit the links at Table Creek Golf Course in Nebraska City on Tuesday October 7.
Wind gusts of 30 mph and cool morning temperatures welcomed the Class C participants. Steph Rodgers of Syracuse continued to show her dominance on the links firing a score of 81. Only five golfers posted scores below the century mark. Tri County captured the team title with a 418. Leading the Timberwolves from Exeter-Milligan was Kayla Becker who posted 131 finishing 30th and Crystal Becker with a 132.
“We came into the season very inexperienced but made progress throughout the season. I think as a team we realized the importance of playing during the off-season,” commented Timberwolves mentor Chris Lewandowski. “Kayla, Crystal, Ana, and Linsey all improved in some aspect of the game and hopefully will continue to work to improve. We were not as successful as we would have liked, but this group worked hard and always put in their best effort.”
Final nine hole golf statistics from practice and meets: Crystal Becker 61, Kayla Becker 65, Ana Androyna 68, Linsey Klemm 81.
The golf team would like to thank their parents, the Boosters and Mary Lou Vossler for providing snacks and support throughout the season. A special thank you to the Friend Country Club and members for allowing the team to utilize their exceptional golf course for practice and meets.
