In his first wrestling action of the year Saturday, York senior Noah Stafursky won the 285-pound division of the Fillmore Central Invite in Geneva – and in impressive fashion, too. Stafursky, who recently signed to become a walk-on offensive lineman for the Nebraska football team, got to the heavyweight championship after picking up four consecutive quick wins in 12, 16, 12 and 17 seconds, respectively. In the 285 final, Stafursky faced the top heavyweight in Class C in Fillmore Central’s Riley Moses, another walk-on offensive line commit for the Huskers. Stafursky won that match – this one in 3 minutes, 48 seconds. York was without several of its wrestlers Saturday, but still came away with the invite win.
