Daniel “Dan” D. Gibb, age 70, of York, died Thursday, April 11, 2019 at York.
He was born Feb. 6, 1949 in David City to Claude William and Irene (Hullihen) Gibb. Dan worked at York State Bank in York as a loan officer for many years. On Jan. 18, 1994, Dan was married to Jean Scamehorn Sloan at Eureka Springs, Ark.
He was a member of the League of Human Dignity, and served on the Board of the League of Human Dignity in Lincoln. He was a charter member of the York Eagles Club. Dan enjoyed wood working, shooting at the Issac Walton League, cooking for his family, and especially his dog Maggie.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of York; daughter, Susan Zysset of Hastings; step-daughters, Traci (Dennis) Hoyle, Amy (Richard) Meyer and Sue Ann Mefford all of York; step-son, Steven (Steve Atkins) Sloan of Coupeville, Wash. His grandchildren include, Keaton and Jayden Zysset, Tanner Gibb, Mallet (Emily) Meyer, Morgan (fiancé Zach) Meyer, Bailey Mefford, and great-grandchildren Kayden and Maddex. He is also survived by his half-sister, Coletta (Dean) Brown, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four half-brothers; half-sister and infant sister, Susan Kay.
Private family services at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation as it was Dan’s wish to be cremated. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
