Our granddaughter Maura joins us in wishing all our readers a Happy Easter!

What are you doing for Easter? It seems like I’ve been asked that question a lot this week. I love Easter and, just like you, I’m hoping for beautiful weather. Family, including the little bunny pictured above, will be coming to our house for the holiday. Maura is now one year older than when the photo was taken and she’s still as cute as a button. She and our other grandkids will be joined by a number of other relatives. Luckily everyone is bringing something so our biggest problem is finding seating for 31 people. Yikes!

Lied Center Broadway Series

Dave and I are still working on Easter dinner seating and we always seem to be working on the Fun Club schedule. This has nothing to do with Easter but I’m excited to announce we have ordered Lied Center tickets for four Broadway shows for the coming season. Whew! Now I can relax since that job is done. Well, maybe I’ll wait until the relatives leave and then I can really relax.

Following are the shows and dates we have selected for our Lied Center outings. Costs are approximate and we will have an exact price soon. Please call 402-745-6477 weekday mornings or email to register for the shows. As you know, it’s always first come, first served.

The Phantom of the Opera

The spectacular production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera” comes to Lincoln as part of a new North American Tour. The show has retained the beloved story and fabulous music. However, there are exciting new special effects and enhanced staging and choreography. Critics say it’s bigger and better than ever.

The Fun Club will attend the matinee performance on Sunday, Nov. 3. The price will be approximately $149 depending on transportation and meal costs.

Bandstand the Musical

The inspiring new American musical “Bandstand” explodes with fantastic big-band music and incredible dancing. The show is set in 1945 when six soldiers return from war to a changed nation. When NBC announces a competition to find the next musical superstars, the six form a band unlike any the nation has ever seen. You’ll understand why this performance won the Tony Award for Best Choreography when you see this high-octane performance.

The Fun Club will attend the matinee on Sunday, Jan. 19. The price will be approximately $119 depending on transportation and meal costs.

Blue Man Group

Plan to rock, laugh and party at the “Blue Man Group” performance. As three bald and blue men explore our world, we’ll discover music, comedy and surprises at every turn. By the end of this spectacular journey, you’ll be saying “I don’t know what just happened but I loooved it!”

The Fun Club will attend the Sunday, Feb. 2, matinee. The price will be approximately $109 depending on transportation and meal costs.

Beautiful - The Carole King Musical

“Beautiful” tells the story of Carole King’s remarkable rise to stardom. The show features a stunning array of beloved songs including “I Feel the Earth Move,” “One Fine Day,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” and “You’ve Got a Friend.” “Beautiful” won two 2014 Tony Awards and the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

The Fun Club will attend the Thursday, April 23, evening performance. The price will be approximately $119 depending on transportation and meal costs.
