Are you interested in learning about some awesome travel destinations? We hope so! And we hope you’ll register to attend one or both travel shows we are hosting next Wednesday, June 19, at the Chances R Beer Garden. The Travel Show featuring our newest tour, “Iceland Explorer,” will begin at 1:30 p.m. This will be followed at approximately 2:10 p.m. with a review of the “Christmas Markets Cruise on the Rhine River.”

Anyone interested in group travel is invited to attend the free presentations. You do not need to have traveled with the Fun Club in the past. All we ask is that you register by calling the Fun Club at 402-745-6477. That will help us plan for seating and refreshments. Leave a voice message if you call during non-office hours or email us at

Iceland Explorer

The tour to Iceland will be a seven-day adventure on June 3-9, 2020. The cost of the tour with the booking discount is $3,995 per person with a double room. A single room is higher.

The trip will include the Golden Circle Tour which is a 190-mile circular route that encompasses many of Iceland’s famous landmarks. Among the sites on the circle tour is Stokkur Geyser which erupts every few minutes spouting water 100 feet in the air.

We’ll visit Skogafoss which is one of the largest waterfalls in the country. We’ll also travel to the Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland’s well-known attractions. Another fun activity will be the whale watch cruise. And everyone will love the accommodations for all five nights at the Grand Hotel in Reykjavik.

Christmas Markets Cruise

And yes! We are hosting one more Travel Show featuring the “Christmas Markets Cruise on the Rhine River.” We recently learned there are staterooms available in some of the categories. We never know when these will sell out but we do know the tour will be an incredible experience.

The dates for this nine-day Christmas Markets cruise in Switzerland, France and Germany are Dec. 3-11, 2019. The cost varies depending on your choice of stateroom.

You’ll learn more about this fabulous Christmas experience during the second segment of our Travel Show which will begin at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19.

A look at early Nebraska

The Fun Club’s annual trek to Brownville is Wednesday, July 17. Departure time is 8 a.m. and the cost is only $108 for a whole day of fun. The price includes transportation, two meals, the cruise, comedy at the theatre, the winery and all admission costs.

Brownville was an important port on the Missouri River back in the heyday of steamboat travel in the 1880s. Although those days are long gone, the town has maintained its charm as well as pride in its history.

The dinner cruise on the “Spirit of Brownville” paddlewheeler is always a highlight. The show at the Village Theatre “The Three Tenors” is a hilarious farce and is filled with tons of scandalous fun. There will be time to tour a historic home or a unique museum, browse the shops or stroll through the arboretum. Wine tasting at Whiskey Run Creek Winery is also included.

Call 402-745-6477 or email us to add your name to the roster for this unique outing.
