Are you looking for some light-hearted fun for the summer? The Fun Club has just added “Pump Boys and Dinettes” at the T.A.D.A. Theatre in Lincoln to our August schedule.

The “pump boys” are four men who work at a gas station off North Carolina’s scenic Highway 57. They are known to celebrate life’s simple pleasures like fishing, beer and good music. Across the street at the local diner, the Cupp sisters serve coffee and pie, a little sass, and tunes of their own.

With songs like “Farmer Tan” and “The Night Dolly Parton Was Almost Mine,” you know there will be some foot stompin’ fun.

The date is Sunday, Aug. 11, and the cost is $79 which includes transportation, the show at the T.A.D.A. and lunch at Screamers Dining and Cabaret where the singing servers put on a show of their own. The motorcoach will depart York at 10:30 a.m. Call the Fun Club at 402-745-6477 to add your name to the roster.

Fun in Brownville

The Fun Club’s day in Brownville on Wednesday, July 17, will include a trip to the Village Theatre where “A Comedy of Tenors” will surely leave us in stitches. The plot revolves around Tito Merelli who is preparing for the concert of the century in 1930s Paris. This side-splitting farce is filled with mistaken identities and scandalous fun. And it’s just one of the enjoyable activities included in our day at Brownville.

We’ll also have a motorcoach tour of the historic village, sampling at the winery, visits to unique museums and a dinner cruise on the Missouri River. The cost for the full day adventure is $108.

Fun at the Melodrama

The Fun Club will attend the melodrama at Seward on Thursday, June 6, and four tickets are available. “Love Rides the Rails” is a show where booing, hissing and throwing popcorn at the villain are all part of the fun. And we always wonder if the hero will arrive in time to save the lovely damsel in distress. Join us for an evening of playful entertainment.

Along with a fun show, the Goehner Centennial Players serve a delicious prime rib dinner to their guests and utilize their profits to award scholarships to area youth. The cost of transportation, dinner and the show is $67.
