Events planned at McCool UMC

McCOOL JUNCTION – Two upcoming events are being planned at the McCool Junction United Methodist Church.

Pastor Gaines’ last Sunday with the congregation will be June 16. They will have a celebration service at 9 a.m. and a carry-in meal at 11 a.m., in the fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to attend and wish Pastor Gaines well in his retirement.

The annual car, truck, motorcycle and tractor show, “Cooking and Chrome,” which is sponsored by the church, will be held Saturday, June 29, at the McCool Northside Park from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. There will be people’s choice awards for the top two vehicles in each division. Kerry’s Restaurant will furnish the lunch. Everyone is welcome.

UMC community meal

BENEDICT -- The United Methodist Church will serve a community meal at the village park in Benedict on Monday, June 17, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served. Everyone is welcome. In case of bad weather, it will be held at the community center.

Faith Lutheran Church to hold VBS

YORK -- Registration is now open for Faith Lutheran Church Vacation Bible School. Vacation Bible School will be June 17 - 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Any child age 4 or above by July 31, 2019, and who is potty trained is invited to attend Faith Lutheran VBS Sign up your child by June 10 at:

Christian Women’s Connection to meet

AURORA -- Christian Women’s Connection will meet on Tuesday, June 18 at 7 p.m. The venue will be at Pleasant View (PVBC) located at 307 Manor Dr. in Aurora.

The meeting will feature “Tips on Traveling: One Suitcase for Two Weeks” by Dorothy Smith, Moline, Ill.

Dorthy will also inspire us with her life story “A Dreamer’s Reality” she will share how reality fulfilled an ordinary girl’s dreams of perfect life. She explains how she dealt with rejection and fear as well as the loss of an adult child.

Bryan Willey of Aurora will serenade us with his beautiful voice and songs.

Tasty dessert will be served.

YORK – A retirement open house will be held in honor of Pastor Art Phillips on Sunday, June 23 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church.

St. Peter Lutheran to celebrate Mission Sunday

GRESHAM -- St. Peter Lutheran Church will celebrate Mission Sunday on June 30 at 10:30 a.m. A carry-in dinner will follow the worship service.

New Life Church of the Nazarene Youth Activities

YORK - Teens in sixth through twelfth grades are invited to join in on our summer break activities being held Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. through July 10 at the home of our youth leaders - Andrew and Courtney Sheets. Area children and teens and their families are invited to attend our Welcome Back-Throwback Party July 13 at the church, and then we will resume our Wednesday night children and youth activities at the church on July 17, which start at 6:45 p.m.

Emmanuel Lutheran to hold VBS

YORK – Emmanuel Lutheran Church will hold their Vacation Bible School on July 22-26 from 8:30 a.m. until 12 noon daily.

‘2nd Cup Café’ in Bradshaw

BRADSHAW -- The “2nd Cup Café” community coffee is held at the Bradshaw United Methodist Church fellowship hall each Thursday morning from 8:30-10 a.m. Proceeds from the weekly coffee benefit the Green Beans Coffee Co. program “Cup of Joe For a Joe,” which provides coffee for service personnel overseas. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy a cup of coffee and morning pastry.
