New Life Church of the Nazarene Youth Activities

YORK - Area children and teens and their families are invited to attend our Welcome Back-Throwback Party July 13 at the church, and then we will resume our Wednesday night children and youth activities at the church on July 17, which start at 6:45 p.m.

Orphan Grain Train Fish Feed in Hampton

HAMPTON -- St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Hampton will be hosting an Orphan Grain Train Fish Feed on Saturday, July 13 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. Fish, potatoes, onions, salads, desserts and drinks will be served with a free will offering being taken with all proceeds going to the Orphan Grain Train.

Community Grill Out in Benedict

BENEDICT -- The Benedict United Methodist Church will host a Community Grill Out at the Village Park in Benedict on Monday, July 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, salads, and dessert will be served. All are welcome! In case of bad weather, join us in the Community Center!

Church Council to meet in Gresham

GRESHAM -- St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Council will meet on Thursday, July 18, at 8 p.m. in Gresham. The quarterly meeting will be held on Sunday, July 21, at 8 p.m.

Emmanuel LWML to hold ice cream social

YORK – The Emmanuel Lutheran Church’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) will have its annual ice cream social on Thursday, July 18, from 5:30-8 p.m., in the fellowship hall at Ninth and Beaver Ave. Homemade ice cream, along with pies and drinks, will be served. Ice cream can also be purchased for take-home that night. A freewill offering will be taken for local missioners and ministries, with supplemental funds from Thrivent. The public is invited to attend.

Bradshaw UMC to hold Ice Cream Social

BRADSHAW -- Bradshaw United Methodist Church will host an Ice Cream Social on Friday, July 19 from 5 – 7 p.m. Homemade ice cream, sloppy joes and pie will be served. A free will offering will be taken with all proceeds going toward the Community Ministries Fund.

Teaching and exposition of Sacred Relics in Geneva

GENEVA -- St. Joseph Parish in Geneva will present a teaching and exposition of Sacred Relics on Saturday July 20, at 7 p.m. Father Carlos Martins of the Companions of the Cross will be here with a very special Vatican collection of over 150 relics, some as old as 2,000 years. Among the treasures will be relics of St. Maria Goretti, St. Therese of Lisieus (the “Little Flower”, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas, and St. Faustina Kowalska. In addition, there will also be present a portion of the veil of Our Lady, as well as one of the largest remaining pieces of the True Cross in the world. Those in attendance will be able to examine and venerate each relic. In the Church’s history many miracles and healings have been worked in the presence of relics, and many have been healed through this ministry. Please do not miss this opportunity. You are encouraged to bring your articles of devotion (such as rosaries, holy cards, etc.) and pictures of ill friends/family members which you will be able to touch to the reliquaries as a means of intercession. The event is FREE and open to the public.

YORK – Emmanuel Lutheran Church will hold their Vacation Bible School on July 22-26 from 8:30 a.m. until 12 noon daily.

GRESHAM -- St. Peter LWML in Gresham will meet Tuesday, July 23, at 7:30 p.m.

‘2nd Cup Café’ in Bradshaw

BRADSHAW -- The “2nd Cup Café” community coffee is held at the Bradshaw United Methodist Church fellowship hall each Thursday morning from 8:30-10 a.m. Proceeds from the weekly coffee benefit the Green Beans Coffee Co. program “Cup of Joe For a Joe,” which provides coffee for service personnel overseas. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy a cup of coffee and morning pastry.
