Geneva Rotary Club

GENEVA -- A Talent Show will be held on July 6 at 4 p.m., sponsored by the Geneva Rotary Club, as part of the three day “Geneva Days” event. The outdoor show invites participants of all ages and ability levels. The show is free and open to everyone. It will be held at the bandstand at the Geneva City Park. The public is invited to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy the show. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Geneva City Auditorium. The event is being used by the Geneva Rotary Club as a kickoff to promote the renovation and repurposing of the 68 year old bandstand into a modern event space that can serve the area as an outdoor entertainment and community use venue.

Fillmore County Legion Riders Post 68

GENEVA -- The Fillmore County Legion Riders Post 68 Annual Poker Run will be held on Saturday, July 6. Registration will take place from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Geneva VFW Post 7102 on Main Street in Geneva. The route will be approximately 150 miles with the last stop being the Geneva Lions Club in the Geneva City Park north of the Aquatic Center on F Street. The entry fee is $15 per person which includes a meal at the end of the run. A meal will be served from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Geneva City Park as part of Geneva’s Fourth of July Summer Celebration, sponsored by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce. Meal is open to the public. All vehicles welcome. Poker Run proceeds will be donated to the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, the Quilts of Valor Foundation and local veterans projects.

WACO -- The Waco Village Board will meet Monday, July 9, at 7:30 p.m.

Gresham American Legion Auxiliary

GRESHAM -- The American Legion Auxiliary will meet on Tuesday, July 9, at 7:30 p.m., at the Gresham Community Center. Girls State representative Charlee Tonniges and Boys State representative Randy Rafert will report on their experiences. The American Legion and Sons of the Legion members are invited to attend. The public is also welcome to attend.

Cross County Board of Education

STROMSBURG -- The Cross County Board of Education will meet in regular session at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, July 10, in the media center of the school.

Benedict Volunteer Fire Department

BENEDICT -- The next meeting and training session for the fire department will be Wednesday, July 10, at 7 p.m.

BRADSHAW -- The Bradshaw Village Board will meet on Thursday, July 11 at 7 p.m.

Cross County Booster Club

OSCEOLA -- The 13th annual Cross County Booster Club Golf Tournament and fundraiser has been scheduled for Saturday, July 13, at Ryan Hill Country Club in Osceola. Registration for the two-person scramble will start at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Register by July 8 at the school or go to www.crosscountyschools.org. The rain date has been set for July 14.

Gresham Volunteer Fire Department

GRESHAM -- The monthly Gresham Firemen’s meeting will be Monday, July 15, at 7:30 p.m., at the fire station.

Bradshaw Plainfield Cemetery District

BRADSHAW -- The Bradshaw Plainfield Cemetery District will hold their annual meeting on Monday, July 15 at 8 p.m. at the Bradshaw United Methodist Church.

Waco CBO

WACO -- The next Waco CBO meeting will be Monday, July 15, at 7 p.m., at the Waco Community Building. There will be no CBO meeting in August.

Waco Cemetery Board

WACO -- The next meeting of the Waco Cemetery Board will be Aug. 1, at 7 p.m., at the Waco village office.
