WACO -- The next meeting of the Waco CBO will be held Monday, June 17, at 7 p.m., at the community building. New members are always welcome. Individuals do not have to be members to attend a meeting.

Henderson Heritage & Tourism

HENDERSON -- The annual Henderson Heritage Garden Tour is in full bloom this summer featuring four stops on Sunday, June 23 from 4-7 p.m. The garden tour is an invitation to visit normally private backyards showcasing some hidden gardens, flowers and landscaping treasures. Hosting their gardens this year are: Rick and Mary Boardman, Carey and Sarah Goertzen, Lynn and Kathy Gloystein and The Greystone Cottage. Advance tickets may be purchased at the Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park located 1 1/2 miles south of the Henderson I-80 exit on Spur 93A. Heritage Park open hours are Tuesday - Saturday from 1 - 4 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the tour at the Heritage Park Visitor’s Center. York Garden Club

YORK -- The York Garden Club will meet Monday, June 24 at 2 p.m. at Chances R. Mary Beth Kunze will present the program, “Gardening in the Arizona Desert.” If you are interested in learning about desert gardening, please join us. York Jr. Women’s Club

YORK -- The York Jr. Women’s Club will meet for fun, friendship and fundraising at the York Farmers Market on Thursday, June 27, at the Kilgore Library. Geneva Rotary Club

GENEVA -- A Talent Show will be held on July 6 at 4 p.m., sponsored by the Geneva Rotary Club, as part of the three day “Geneva Days” event. The outdoor show invites participants of all ages and ability levels. The show is free and open to everyone. It will be held at the bandstand at the Geneva City Park. The public is invited to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy the show. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Geneva City Auditorium. The event is being used by the Geneva Rotary Club as a kickoff to promote the renovation and repurposing of the 68 year old bandstand into a modern event space that can serve the area as an outdoor entertainment and community use venue.

Fillmore County Legion Riders Post 68

GENEVA -- The Fillmore County Legion Riders Post 68 Annual Poker Run will be held on Saturday, July 6. Registration will take place from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Geneva VFW Post 7102 on Main Street in Geneva. The route will be approximately 150 miles with the last stop being the Geneva Lions Club in the Geneva City Park north of the Aquatic Center on F Street. The entry fee is $15 per person which includes a meal at the end of the run. A meal will be served from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Geneva City Park as part of Geneva’s Fourth of July Summer Celebration, sponsored by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce. Meal is open to the public. All vehicles welcome. Poker Run proceeds will be donated to the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, the Quilts of Valor Foundation and local veterans projects.

Cross County Booster Club

OSCEOLA -- The 13th annual Cross County Booster Club Golf Tournament and fundraiser has been scheduled for Saturday, July 13, at Ryan Hill Country Club in Osceola. Registration for the two-person scramble will start at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Register by July 8 at the school or go to www.crosscountyschools.org. The rain date has been set for July 14.
