YORK — Forty-one golfers and 33 hole sponsors participated in the 9th annual Living Water Rescue Mission benefit golf tournament the “Master’s Classic.”

“Jesus was called ‘Master’ by His disciples. This is why we call the tournament ‘The Master’s Classic,’” explained Living Water Rescue Mission Associate Director Larry Joslin.

In addition to golfers and hole sponsors, Joslin said prize donors made an impact with their contributions. “We had over 40 prizes provided by many local businesses and golf courses from all around Nebraska given out to our golfers,” he said.

A total of $11,364 in monetary donations was raised for the mission, which offers Christ-based mission needs to York and the surrounding counties. “The support of the community is a great blessing,” Joslin said.

To close the “Master’s,” a mission alumnus spoke about how the Living Water Rescue Mission affected her life. “We saw a few tears when Nicole shared with golfers at the end of the tournament what God has done in her life since… completing the discipleship program,” Joslin said.

The benefit tournament was also fun, Joslin said. “We saw a lot of smiles and heard a lot of laughter. It was a good day.”
