A 22-year-old man died after he was shot late Thursday at a convenience store at North 102nd Street and West Maple Road, police said Friday.

Around 11:40 p.m., Omaha police officers responded to reports of shots fired at the Bucky's located on the northwest corner of 102nd and West Maple.

Jeremiah Plater was taken to Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy with critical, life-threatening injuries, police said.

Plater later died at the hospital from his gunshot injuries.

Police were searching for a suspect wearing a red, white and blue jacket and driving a red Kia Soul with license plate ULY855.
