• Emmanuel-Faith Lutheran PTL Carnival

Emmanuel-Faith Lutheran will hold their annual PTL Carnival on Friday, March 15 from 6 – 8 p.m. The carnival will include games, bounce houses, face painting, a photo booth and the ever popular cake walk. Concessions will also be available. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the school office.

Sunday, March 17

• Cross County Robotics Club

Fundraising Soup Luncheon

The Cross County Robotics Club will have a fundraising soup luncheon and open house on Sunday, March 17, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the school. Proceeds will go toward the club’s expenses, such as entry fees, parts, software, equipment, travel and accommodations.

• Boy Scout Troop 173 Fundraiser Meal

Let York’s Boys Scouts of America Troop 173 cook for you on Sunday, March 17 from 11a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Gym. The delicious menu will be home made rubens, hot dogs, cheesy potatoes, side dishes, salads and desserts. Funds will go towards the scouts attending the Buffalo Bill Scout Ranch in Wyoming this summer.

• YPS Mother/Son Game Night

York Public Schools will be hosting a Mother/Son Game Night on Sunday, March 17 (this event was rescheduled from February) at the Holthus Field House in York. Daddies and daughters don’t get to have all the fun… this will be a fun evening for mothers and sons, ages 4 – 10, to eat, play and have a good time. Contact the school to register.

Monday, March 18

• Pee Wee Games

Pee Wee Games is a York Parks & Rec program where kids age Preschool – 1st grade will play games in the gym and learn sport skills. Skills will include dribbling, catching, throwing and running! Sports will include, basketball, volleyball, football, scooters ball, wiffleball and kickball! Come to the York Community Center on Monday, March 18 from 3:30 – 5 p.m. to join in the fun.

Tuesday, March 19

• Read & Rec

Kids in grades K – 5 are invited to join Kilgore Library and York Parks and Recreation for book check-out, crafts, story time and swimming during Read & Rec on Tuesday, March 19 from 3:30 – 5 p.m. at the York Community Center.

• Family Art Night at Exeter-Milligan

Exeter-Milligan will host a Family Art Night on Tuesday, March 19 starting at 6:30 p.m.

• York Sience Expo

Science Expo 2019 will be held Tuesday, March 19 at the York City Auditorium. Public viewing will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Students from YES, Emmanuel-Faith Lutheran School and St. Joseph Catholic School will have a variety of science projects on display for the public to enjoy. Come see what the future scientists are up to and enjoy a meal provided by the P.A.T.T. Group in the basement of the auditorium.

• Youth Involvement Fair

York Parks & Rec and the York Chamber will host a Youth Involvement Fair at the York City Auditorium on Thursday, March 21. Bring the kids and get them signed up for all the spring and summer programs York has to offer.

• Family Literacy Night at Heartland

Heartland will hold a Family Literacy Night on Thursday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m.

• Cross County Basketball Jamboree

Cross County will hold its annual Basketball Jamboree March 22-23.

Kids in grades 1 – 5 can get a jumpstart on becoming an All-Star during York Parks & Rec’s Rookie All-Stars. This program will focus on a different sport each week, teaching the fundamentals and increasing the awareness of each sport for the kids. The program is set up to have the first hour focused on the fundamentals and the last 30 minutes on playing the game. The first session will take place at the York Community Center on Monday, April 1 from 3:30 – 5 p.m. and will feature the sport of basketball.

Students in grades 2 – 5 can set their architecture and engineering minds free at Be a Builder where York Parks 7 Rec will assist them in creating masterpieces using different types of materials such as wood, legos, plastic, clay and of course paper. Be A Builder will be held at the York Community Center on Thursday, April 4 from 3:30 – 5 p.m.

• Rookie All-Stars

Kids in grades 1 – 5 can get a jumpstart on becoming an All-Star during York Parks & Rec’s Rookie All-Stars. This program will focus on a different sport each week, teaching the fundamentals and increasing the awareness of each sport for the kids. • Underwater Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny can’t swim, but you can! York Parks & Rec invites kids in grades K – 5 to come hunt for Easter Eggs in the York Community Center swimming pool and then stick around and enjoy a pool party on Friday, April 19 from 3:45 – 5 p.m.

Saturday, April 20

• Waco Easter Egg Hunt

The annual Waco Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m., at the Ellison Park football field. Donations of candy may be dropped off at the Waco branch of Cornerstone Bank before Friday, April 12.

• Geneva Easter Egg Hunt

The Geneva Chamber of commerce and Fillmore Central FBLA will be hosting the annual Easter Egg hunt on the courthouse lawn Saturday, April 20 at 10:30 a.m. The Rotary pancake feed will begin at 8 a.m. and continue until 10:30 a.m. at Jill’s Sweet Shop. The cost is $5 per plate and kids will get to meet the Easter Bunny at 9 a.m.

Monday, April 22

Kids in grades 3 – 5 are invited to come and make their favorite Tie-Dye clothing with York Parks & Rec on Tuesday, May 7 from 3:45 – 5 p.m. at the York Community Center. Bring a white piece of clothing and we’ll tie-dye it into a beautiful piece of wearable artwork!
