YORK -- York General is excited to announce that we will be hosting Self-Defense classes on Saturday, July 20 at the York General Wellness Center, located at 2114 N Lincoln Avenue, in York.
Classes will be from 10 - 11:15 a.m. or 11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Please pre-register, space is limited).
It is so essential for students (especially females) heading off to college to understand the importance of safety awareness. The self-defense techniques that will be taught are easy to learn. The information is invaluable for first year college students, as well as high schoolers and other adults. Knowledge is empowering.
Classes taught by 5th Degree ATA Nationally Certified Instructors, Jack Cochnar and Alyssa Cochnar, Owners and Chief Instructors at Gold Star Martial Arts in Seward and Crete. Gold Star Martial Arts is an independently owned and operated member of the ATA (American Taekwondo Association). Our main martial arts style is Songahm Taekwondo, with a Korean origin.
You will need to sign-up for a class time as we will only take the first 20 people for each class. Each class will be $20 and will include safety awareness and hands-on training of easy to learn self-defense using gross motor skills. Children ages 13-17 are allowed, but will need to take the class with an adult. Classes are held in the Wellness Aerobic room.
**You must sign-up and sign waiver prior to the class. The waivers will be available in Wellness. We will need payment at that time.
