YORK – DeChelly M. Ramsey, 21, of York, has been charged with eight felonies and four misdemeanors involving first degree sexual assault, delivery of cocaine and marijuana, attempted strangulation and contributing to the delinquency of a child.

The case against Ramsey has been bound over to District Court where arraignment proceedings are pending.

Special prosecutor, Denise Kracl, has been appointed to the case.

The formal filings against Ramsey are:

• Count 1: First degree sexual assault of a minor, a Class 2 felony, which carries a possible maximum sentence of 50 years in prison upon conviction.

• Count 2: First degree sexual assault of a minor, a Class 2 felony, which carries a possible maximum sentence of 50 years in prison upon conviction.

• Count 3: First degree sexual assault of a minor, a Class 2 felony, which carries a possible maximum sentence of 50 years in prison upon conviction.

• Count 4: First degree sexual assault of a minor, a Class 2 felony, which carries a possible maximum sentence of 50 years in prison upon conviction.

• Count 5: First degree sexual assault of a minor, a Class 2 felony, which carries a possible maximum sentence of 50 years in prison upon conviction.

• Count 6: Possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, with the intent to deliver, a Class 2A felony, which carries a possible maximum sentence of 20 years in prison upon conviction.

• Count 7: Possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, with the intent to deliver, a Class 2A felony, which carries a possible maximum sentence of 20 years in prison upon conviction.

• Count 8: Attempted strangulation, a Class 4 felony, which carries a possible maximum sentence of two years in prison with 9-12 months post-release supervision.

• Count 9: Third degree assault, a Class 1 misdemeanor, which carries a possible maximum sentence of one year of incarceration.

• Count 10: Third degree assault, a Class 1 misdemeanor, which carries a possible maximum sentence of one year of incarceration.

• Count 11: Contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a Class 1 misdemeanor, which carries a possible maximum sentence of one year of incarceration.

• Count 12: Procuring to a minor, a Class 1 misdemeanor, which carries a possible maximum sentence of one year of incarceration.

Court documents indicate the alleged victim in this case is the vicinity of 15-16 years old.

No other information about this case can be publicized, due to its sensitive nature and the age of the alleged victim.
