YORK — For the first time the Yorkshire Playhouse Children’s Theatre, will be offering weekly workshops during the summer. Workshops this year will focus on Play Reading and Improvisation. All students in grades 2-12 are encouraged to participate in this offering.

Workshops will run from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. each Monday starting on June 10th and run through July 15th.

Parents are asked to notify Yorkshire Playhouse if their child is participating. Registration is not required, but encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome; if a child isn’t signed up, they are still welcome to attend.

The workshops will build on what was learned during the previous week, but organizers are developing a format that kids will feel comfortable walking into even if they cannot attend every session. The workshops will teach some skills participants can use in theatre, but the main goal is to provide a fun theatrical experience.

The Yorkshire Playhouse is not currently planning any children’s performances.
