YORK – Creighton Hirschfeld crushed a two-run homer over the left-field fence and the York Cornerstone Juniors racked up 12 hits along the way to a dominating 18-1 win in four innings Sunday night in Lexington.
With the win the Juniors improved their season record to 9-5 and will play their final home game of the season at Levitt Stadium Tuesday night when they host Doniphan-Trumbull.
Along with his two-run bomb, Hirschfeld also hit an RBI single. Other notable performances at the plate included Reid Heidtbrink recording an RBI triple and RBI single while three players – Jonah Barrow, Beau Woods and Thomas Ivey – all hit an RBI single. Ty Schneider had a sacrifice fly.
Ivey started on the mound and unofficially gave up just one hit.
