YORK – The York Dukes won two Class B state championships last year and both of those were not on a court or a field.

York’s play production and speech accounted for 50 points each of the Dukes’ 410 total points on their way to a fourth-place overall finish.

York’s football team picked up 37.5 points while the boys’ tennis team had 35; boys golf 40; wrestling 30; boys basketball 22.5; girls golf 15 and girls track and field 20.

The York boys were second overall and the girls finished sixth.

Omaha Skutt, with a combined four state championships, and Elkhorn, with just one title and four state runner-ups, finished in first and second, respectively.
