Just about every Monday night, my son Jake and I watch WWE RAW Wrestling.
We are both glued to the TV as we watched the WWE Superstars compete in matches and go through their pre-arranged situations. Sometimes it is pretty entertaining and other times not so much. At least not lately.
My son was convinced (when he was younger) that it was all for real and not fake.
We even argued at times as I tried to get him to understand that there was no way that the human body could absorb that much punishment and jump up a few seconds later and unleash the same beating on their opponent.
Every once in a while an injury occurs to a wrestler that is not supposed to happen, but for the most part these matches are all worked out ahead of time.
I have to admit that when The Rock, John Cena and Triple H were regulars the show was much better and enjoyable to watch and the action and the storylines kept you interested in the program from week to week.
Lately I haven’t felt that way about the WWE.
The storylines are just not as interesting and the wrestlers don’t have the same mike skills that The Rock, Cena and others had.
There is also something else that my son and I have noticed and that is some of the storylines seem to be about BULLYING, something the WWE has stood against for many years.
Maybe it’s just me, but there are several things going on right now that have me not as interested in watching the Monday night show.
For instance: Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre are running all over RAW, throwing their weight around and beating up other wrestlers for no reason at all. To me there might be a mixed message being sent there, since bullying is not tolerated by the WWE.
Another threesome that is bullying another wrestler would be the AJ Styles/Luke Gallows and Carl Anderson.
I think the WWE needs to take a good look at the type of storylines they are presenting week after week.
Let’s get back to good old fashioned/ butt kicking/hard knocks wrestling and tone down a little bit on the bullying storylines that have become a regular thing on Monday Night RAW.
I don’t have a lot more to offer this week.
Jake’s wedding was Friday night and it was Thursday morning when I wrote this, so things were pretty hectic at the time.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend and be safe on the roads if you have to travel.
