YORK – The Crete Cardinals led 1-0 at the end of the top of the first inning, but that was a short-lived lead as the York Fusion 14-U got back on the winning track with a 13-1 win in the second game of its triangular at the York Ballpark Complex on Wednesday night.

York scored five runs in the bottom of the first and followed that up with three in the second and five more in the third to end the game via the 12-run rule after three innings.

The Fusion 14s, who opened the triangular with a 13-7 loss to the Seward Jazz, had just six hits in the win while York starter Kassidy Stuckey went the distance, striking out three batters and not allowing a hit.

On offense the Fusion was led by both Ashleigh Hills and Hailey Lindburg, as both players had two hits in three plate appearances. Hills had a triple and three runs batted in while Lindburg doubled and drove in two runs.

Both Lauryn Haggadone and Baylie Holthus went 1 for 3 with Haggadone’s hit being a double, which accounted for two runs.

With the cancellation of the Fusion tournament scheduled for July 5-7, the York 14-U Fusion’s season came to an end on Wednesday night.

The Fusion ended the year with an 18-7-1 record.
