York’s Kaiya Alexander will officially cap her high school soccer career on Saturday at the Nebraska High School Senior Soccer Showcase to be played at Omaha Skutt High School.

OMAHA – York senior Kaiya Alexander has one more soccer game left before her high school career is officially ended as she will participate in the Nebraska High School Senior Soccer Showcase.

On Saturday Alexander will be part of the Girls-Dark team coached by Jason Moore of Omaha Bryan, Jim Ageton of Lincoln Southeast and Digger Hawkins of Gretna.

The game will be played at Omaha Skutt High School with the girls starting off action at 11 a.m. and the boys to follow at 1:30 p.m.

The Shrine Bowl Soccer Classic, which has been played for 25 years, was canceled in April but Millard South coach Jane Elam decided to organize a game to allow the opportunity for some of the best high school players to still showcase their talents in an all-star game.

The reason given for the cancelation was due to changes in the Shrine organization. It is the plan of the Shrine organization to resume the game next year.

Alexander led the Dukes in scoring this season with five goals and was one of the team’s senior leaders for first-year head coach Nick Sozio.
